Classes

Group Class Descriptions:

This class is for any level of practitioner, including those new to yoga, although some yoga experience is helpful.  Students will move and flow mindfully, using their breath as a guide.  Most classes will include a gentle warm up, a few standing and/or balancing poses, seated postures with stretching, and a cool down before ending with a gentle rest (savasana).  This class is a gentler and slower paced class than the Wednesday/Friday morning flows and our focus is on mobility rather than strength.

**The last Sunday of every month will be a Gentle / Restorative class**

The strength training class focuses mostly on areas of the body and movements that our yoga practice leaves out, but it is always a full body workout. No weightlifting experience needed. Students will need their own set of small handweights (ideally at least a set of 2-3 pounds, and 5 pounds) and a resistance band. Contact the instructor prior to registration if you need assistance finding the correct weights. This class is session based only. NO DROP-INS. New sessions begin at the start of every month.

This class is designed for practitioners with some yoga experience. It is moderately paced with medium to high intesnity: depending on how much YOU put into it. Our focus is on strength and endurance. Students are encouraged to move and flow with their breath and to take any modifications / amplifications that are appropriate for their body.  For more information on the style of the class you can read this post about Ashtanga vs Vinyasa Yoga.

The Wednesday class is more “Vinyasa Flow” and the Friday class follows the Ashtanga style more closely. Both classes are similar in pacing/difficulty, but modifications are always offered.
